PIERRE, S.D. (AP) ? A spokeswoman for the Florida hospital where former South Dakota senator and Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern is undergoing tests says he's in good condition.

Gina McLean (Mah-KLAYN) of Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., gave the update Thursday, two days after the 89-year-old McGovern was admitted.

McGovern's daughter, Ann McGovern of Sioux Falls, has said her father was admitted to the hospital Tuesday for tests to determine why he occasionally passes out and loses his ability to speak.

McGovern splits his time between Florida and South Dakota and has been hospitalized several times in recent months. In December, he fell and hit his head in Mitchell, S.D., just minutes before he was to be interviewed live on C-SPAN for a program about his lasting influence on modern-day politics.
